In the Truckee Meadows, climate impacts bring increased urban heat, more severe public health burdens and increasing costs to repair and maintain infrastructure.

Nature-based solutions (AKA green infrastructure) like community forests, bioswales and rain gardens, living roofs, community gardens, permeable pavements, and restored wetlands and streams are proven, multi-benefit assets that help cities manage heat, water, air quality, and equity challenges with a return that “gray” infrastructure rarely delivers on its own.
